You will have an opportunity to… 

• Support VMware environments, including installation, configuration and customization of ESX clusters, Vcenters, Hyperflex clusters, Cisco UCS, HP Synergy, data storage, networking, monitoring, hardware and vendor requests
• Support client server environments, including installation, configuration and customization of Red Hat Linux, Windows, Solaris, and AIX
• Execute VMware currency, including UCS firmware and patching, ESX patching, Vcenter patching, VMware tools patching, Hyperflex upgrades and patching
• Execute client server currency, including software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software and hardware related problems.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and SAs to work on projects’ conceptual/architectural solutions
• Perform capacity management for VMware and client server environments, including CPU, networking, memory, data storage. Work with Enterprise Architects for expansion and upgrades to maintain best performance.
• Responsible for the development of technical documentation
• Provide “on call” support as needed for customer environments on weekends and after hours ( if required )
• Assist end users in troubleshooting/problem resolution. Update and maintain the allocated Incident / Problem / Change control tickets in line with the Customer processes and procedures.
• Apply best practices where possible or engineer new best practices as appropriate.
• Ensure server security compliance conforming to Corporate Security requirements.
• Maintain an awareness of dependencies off all infrastructure.
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures

Qualifications:

Must Have:

• IT Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Systems Analysis, Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the installation, upgrades, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting and security of server operating systems
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in evaluating, customizing and diagnosing server operating system software in a complex and heterogeneous environment
• Strong experience with experience with VMware ESX 6 and 7, Cisco UCS, Cisco Hyperflex, VMware VSAN, Datrium Storage, HP Synergy, Google Cloud, Windows OS, Linux OS, and Unix OS
• Strong networking and internet technology knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, firewall and load balancing concepts)
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Effective oral/written communication skills
• Experience working in a team environment

Nice to Have:

• Minimum 3 years experience in architectural design of servers and associate subsystems including operating systems, storage, backups, services, monitoring and alerting
• Strong experience in the hosting and datacenter operation industries
• Knowledge of Ansible and industry automation tools
